Dr. Arun did his MBBS from Medical College, Baroda, Gujarat and MD General Medicine from Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner, Rajasthan. Thereafter, he did DM Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, Kerala. He has also done the European Alliance of Associations of Rheumatology (EULAR) online course in Rheumatic diseases. He is also cleared speciality certificate examination in Rheumatology (UK).  He has several publications in indexed medical journals and was involved in oral and poster presentations at various national and international conferences.

He is skilled in diagnosing and treating rheumatic diseases like inflammatory arthritis ( rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis), crystal arthropathy (gout, pseudogout), connective tissue diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus or lupus, sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma, myositis), autoimmune coagulative disorders (antiphospholipid syndrome), vasculitis, osteoporosis, soft tissue rheumatism (fibromyalgia, bursitis), autoimmune lung diseases ( autoimmune interstitial lung disease, sarcoidosis), autoimmune eye diseases (uveitis, scleritis, episcleritis, retinal vasculitis), periodic fever syndromes (autoinflammatory diseases), degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis), infection related macrophage activation syndrome and  covid-19 related autoimmune complications (MIS-A and MIS-C).

He has numerous academic achievements to his credit and has published various research articles in national and international journals.

His areas of special interest are rheumatoid arthritis, SLE, Sjogren’s syndrome, fibromyalgia, crystal arthropathy and post COVID-19 immunological complications.
